Pavers are used in many scenarios. Pavers are mostly used as external flooring. They are mostly used for outdoor pavements in many parts of homes and commercial buildings. The most common uses of pavers are in driveways, walkways and even pool decks. Pavers are constructed in different colours and textures. They can be removed and re-installed whenever and hence that is the best application of pavers.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF PAVERS
- Brick Pavers.
Brick pavers have been used as surfaces for driveways mostly for years now. Brick pavers can be manufactured in several shapes and can be made into a range of colours. Brick pavers are usually made of natural materials and hence can be cleaned and reused which also makes it eco-friendly. It can be manufactured in colours and textures that you want and placed accordingly. Some disadvantages of brick pavers are that they aren’t very cost efficient. They require regular maintenance and can tend to chip off. The reason to which brick pavers are not very beneficial is that they are very fragile.
- Concrete Pavers.
Concrete pavers are usually used as a flooring technique for driveways and walkways. The advantages of concrete pavers are that it gives a very natural look and it can be customized with the colours and shapes that you want. Another benefit of pavers is that it is cost-efficient and can be installed easily. Raw materials that are of low cost are used mostly as it is cheaper than using bricks. But also keep in mind that when artificial pigments are used, it can fade away quickly. Since raw materials are used, they can also not last long.
- Rubber Pavers.
The biggest advantage of rubber pavers is that it is eco-friendly. It is recyclable and hence it is also considered to be cost friendly and efficient. But the disadvantage is that if the pavers get wet, then too much heat is absorbed which is not good for the pavers. Wet pavers tend to expand. But it is not very prone to cracking.
- Plastic Pavers.
As the name suggests, these pavers are made of plastic. The plastic that is used to make these pavers are either new or reused plastic. But it is most beneficial if companies make use of recyclable plastic as that would remove the plastic waste in the economy. But the process of recycling is not very easy and hence it might be very expensive. This type of paper is used by many but it is not considered to be as durable as stone pavers.
- Stone Pavers.
Stone pavers are slightly more different when compared to the other types of pavers. Stone pavers are different as they are not uniform like the other pavers. They are directly cut from quarries and used, unlike the others. The other pavers are moulded and manufactured. Hence the pavers tend to be identical. For stone pavers, they are not uniform and there is a variation in the size, colour, and texture.
These pavers provide a sense of elegance and beauty to the flooring. They are manufactured when limestones are exposed to a certain temperature. It gives a sophisticated and natural look to the driveways or walkways of your home or commercial area. They may cause discolouration quickly and as marble is a great conductor of heat, the floor also tends to absorb more heat especially during the summer time.
Pavers come in different colours – Beige, Brown, Grey, and Red are the most popular colours used for pavers.
